The Backroads Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. was founded in 1990 by Mike Gallagher. We service Monroe, Randolph, and Perry counties in the Southwest Region of Illinois. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rights of motorcyclists. It is the purpose of our organization to:
- Safeguard the rights of all motorcyclists.
- Endorse safety programs and education programs.
- Promote unity through involvement.
- Advocate political awareness and activism.
- Promote motorcycling enjoyment.
We fully support all brands of motorcycles. Both riders and non-riders are invited to join us in protecting the individual rights of motorcyclists . Thanks to A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and the hard work of all of the chapters, Illinois is one of only three states remaining 100% helmet free. Ride safely and ride free.
