April 2008 Chapter Meeting Update

Meeting called to order by President Bob Mullar at 1 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Membership report: We had two new members join our chapter. They are John
Hewitt and Dean Klieber.
Safety and Ed report: Janie Larson reported due to her job she is looking for
some assistance with her duties as Safety and Ed. Any Officer interested in helping her out, please contact her. This is what being in a club is all about; when someone needs help someone needs to step up.
Legislative report: The 18th annual Freedom Rally 2008 will be Sunday, May 4. The meeting point will be the old Heritage House Buffet restaurant on the south side of Springfield. Exit I-72 at South Sixth Street go north to East Hazel Dell road turn left. Turn left immediately onto frontage road turn into parking lot on right. Two bills were discussed that will directly affect motorcyclists - HB 5185 this bill was tabled and SB 2801 this bill was pulled. Remember to contact your State Congressmen tell them to vote NO on HB 473.
Activities report: Candi Jarigese reported the May meeting will be at DJ’s, 159 Bucklin St. in La Salle, IL at 4:30 p.m. You may purchase dinner.
Discussion was held about a call chain to notify chapter members of illness or death.
Remember that May is Motorcycle Awareness Month.
Merchandise report: We are once again having a booth at the Marseilles Freedom Run in June. Volunteers are needed to man the booth throughout the day. Contact Jeanne Lindenmuth to schedule a time. A discussion was held on purchasing hats with the chapter logo.
New business: Dan Kleckner suggested that we contact local radio stations to broadcast our community service announcements.
Old business: Remember to sell your State Bike Raffle tickets!
