What is A.B.A.T.E? We are a national, neutral, non-profit organization that allows all riders to unite in
A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education.
The Kishwaukee Valley Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois is one of 60+ state chapters. Our main concern is putting motorcycle legislation into proper perspective through; motorcycle safety education programs in schools, public awareness programs, and other proposals designed to prevent injury or fatal accidents to motorcyclists.
Safety and Education Presentation -
Safety and Education Program conducts motorcycle safety, education and awareness free of charge to all local High School Drives Education Classes, Senior Citizens group and other organizations interested in learning more about motorcycle safety. All presentations are done by volunteers that are licensed motorcycle riders and members of Kishwaukee Valley ABATE.
Presentation will include the following:
*Discussion on the differences between automobiles and motorcycles
*Video "Share the Road"
*Discussion of motorcycle safety gear
*Discuss facts on motorcycle vs. automobile and the injuries that occur during accidents.
*Discussions directed to people already riding motorcycles, such as riding when rain or slippery conditions occur, what to be aware of while riding at night, how to make yourself more visible to motorist, riding within your capabilities, how to pass a vehicle safely.
*A 10 question quiz and review (where applicable).
