Helmet Bills in Committee Hearing FEB 8th - Calls Needed
Call Committee Members Ask Them to Vote No!

HB0285 Synopsis As Introduced - Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that every operator and passenger on a motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or motorized pedalcycle who is age 26 or younger must wear a helmet that meets federal safety standards.

HB0290 Synopsis As Introduced - Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to require every operator and passenger on a motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or motorized pedalcycle to wear a helmet that meets federal safety standards.

State Representative Mary Flowers (31) has decided to bring back HB's 285 + 290 which we oppose. These were left over from last year as she didn't bring them out to the committee floor for a vote Both bills will be heard in the House Transportation Committee on February 8 2012, 11am, Room 115 in the capitol

TALKING POINTS: Governments job is not to tell us how to dress ourselves or our families. We want Crash Reduction, Not Safer Crashes - Motorcycle Awareness, Education, and Training are the keys to Crash Avoidance.

Also scheduled for this hearing - Ask Committee Members to vote yes on HB1986
HB1986 sponsored by our good friend Rep. John Bradley (117) is a positive step forward for OHV's and other off-road recreational vehicles.
