We have bills; our friends have introduced some motorcycle and Off Highway

Vehicle friendly legislation.

ABATE of Illinois Supports the following Bills:

HB0996 Introduced by Rep. Lisa M. Dugan

Creates the Motorcyclist Public Accommodation Act.

Prohibits any person from restricting an individual's access to, admission

to, or use of a place of public accommodation solely because the individual

operates a motorcycle. Provides that a violation is a petty offense and also

provides for civil penalties. Provides that the Act does not prohibit a

person from restricting an individual's access to, admission to, or use of a

place of public accommodation because the individual's conduct poses a risk

to the health, safety, or property of another.

HB0921 Introduced, by Rep. Daniel V. Beiser

Amends the Recreation Trails of Illinois Act. Provides for certain

disbursements from the Off-Highway Vehicle Trails Fund notwithstanding any

other provision of law to the contrary adopted after the effective date of

the Act. Effective immediately

SB0627 Introduced, by Sen. Mike Jacobs

Amends the Recreation Trails of Illinois Act. Provides for certain

disbursements from the Off-Highway Vehicle Trails Fund notwithstanding any

other provision of law to the contrary adopted after the effective date of

the Act. Effective immediately

Amends the Recreational Trails of Illinois Act. Provides that any person who

does not comply with a Section of the Act pertaining to off-highway vehicle

stickers may be fined not more than $250 for a first offense and not more

than $500 for a subsequent offense. Provides that the moneys collected shall

be deposited into the Off-Highway Vehicles Trails Fund.

SB0580 Introduced, by Sen. John J. Millner

university or community college (rather than any State or community college,

State university, or community agency) designated by the Department of

Transportation may organize a Regional Cycle Rider Training Center. Provides
