Subject: Arkansas Helmet Law Voted Down in Committee !
Dear Friends--
Hooray and Huzzah! Here's some great news from Arkansas, especially in the
light of our discussions at the MILE planning session in Joplin yesterday.
I'm sure our Arkansas Freedom Fighters contributed significant efforts to
this positive development, so I send heartfelt congratulations to Everett,
Wewe and all the membership in ABATE of Arkansas, and here's hoping that
none of your enemies attempt to back-door another Helmet Law threat against
you before the session's out. ABATE of Oklahoma stands in solidarity with
you to defend against any attacks on our borders, political and otherwise.
It was great seeing my Brothers and Sisters in Joplin yesterday, and I look
forward to hooking up with you in Ft. Smith in the Spring, if not before.
Yours in Freedom,
Tiger Mike Revere

> LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The Senate Transportation Committee voted down a bill
today that would require motorcyclists to wear helmets.
>
> The only members to vote in favor of the bill were Senators Kim Hendren, a
Republican from Gravette, and John Paul Capps, a Democrat from Searcy.
>
> A number of people spoke against the measure, saying it would infringe on
people's personal rights and personal freedoms.
>
> The state repealed the motorcycle helmet law in 1997. The issue has come
back up several times, but has never been passed by both chambers.
