HIPAA Call to Action
With Congress poised to return today from a sleepy month off from Washington, it's a great time to call or e-mail your federal legislators and remind them to support HR 1076 and S 616, the two pieces of legislation filed on behalf of motorcyclists to fix the discriminatory loopholes in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). These two pieces of legislation are currently sitting in committee before both bodies of Congress. HIPAA Loophole Fix UPDATE The Motorcycle Riders Foundation reports that legislation to close the loophole that allows insurance providers to discriminate against motorcyclists when it comes to fully funding benefits is beginning to gain some momentum.

Call To Action - Awareness Ride Police Protection On Tuesday April 10, 2007 the Moline City Council voted to take the recommendation of Police Chief Gary Francque to not provide protection for the motorcycle parade, leave the streets open to traffic and require we obey all traffic lights and stop signs while in Moline. April 24 - Moline City Council voted unanimously to provide police protection. However a fee was charged for the service.
