(As printed in the Alton Telegraph)... Members of the Alton Fire Department and Piasa Gateway A.B.A.T.E “A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education” got together Sunday October 13^th 2002 at the Cellar Room on Broadway for the A.B.A.T.E Annual Toy Run. Participants bring to a group ride a Teddy Bear or small Toy and these in turn are given to local Fire Departments and Police Departments to comfort smaller children in times of Trauma or Distress.
